<p>There is a movement happening in beauty right now where brands old and new are turning their attention to delivering more personalised products and experiences. More than ever, as beauty lovers, we&rsquo;re celebrating our individuality and acknowledging the bespoke beauty concept that niche brands offer&mdash;whether it&rsquo;s enjoying a fun lipstick making workshop, ordering customised products tailored to our skincare concerns, or having our signature scents created in a workshop that enabled us to express uniqueness..&rdquo;</p>
<p>One of the pioneers in this movement is Angel Cheung, a Hong Kong beauty entrepreneur and fragrance expert. With over ten years of expertise under her belt, Cheung has been a mainstay among Asian beauty leaders in the world of scent, who strongly believes perfume has the power to evoke emotional connections and tell meaningful stories.</p>
<p>&ldquo;I created my own fragrance label Intime Artisan de Parfum because I want to educate the masses about perfumes, and give people an opportunity to explore and embrace their individuality through bespoke perfumes,&rdquo; she spoke with steely confidence. &ldquo;There has been a move away from mass-produced scents towards bespoke blends, and my brand is part of this revolution to spotlight this modern perfumery concept in the beauty space.&rdquo;</p>
<p>Ahead, we speak to Cheung about the story behind launching her fragrance label, her scent branding business and what trends we can look forward to in the perfume industry. She also shares with us her personal tips on how to find our signature scents.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Tell us about your background. How did you find your way into the perfumery space? What inspired to start your own brand?"</p>
<p>I have been working in the marketing field since graduation and I never thought I&rsquo;d have my own perfumery business. But with constant exposure to different types of businesses including fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and luxury beauty products and services, I gradually discovered I loved learning about skincare, cosmetics, and especially perfumes.</p>
<p>Frankly, I wasn&rsquo;t very much interested in perfumes when I was a kid. One of my earliest memories with fragrance is the scent of my mother. She liked to add a few drops of Florida water to the shower gels or body lotions.</p>
<p>My venture into the perfumery space all started when I was studying a course about aromatherapy. In 2015, I flew to the world&rsquo;s famous perfume capital, Grasse, to learn about olfactory compositions by attending lessons and visiting local perfumeries. The storytelling power of perfume really fascinates me, and I want to know how it can act as a catalyst to conjure up emotions and memories across time. I later expanded my passion to new professional ambitions, and that is how Intime Artisan de Parfum was born. I felt really excited about sharing my knowledge and insight on niche perfumes, with the hope of offering people the opportunity to explore this new and unique beauty concept.</p>

<p>&ldquo; Can you tell us more about the scent branding business you do? "</p>
<p>I&rsquo;m always passionate about listening to my clients&rsquo; concerns. I want to create and help them discover unique scents that speak to them, beyond just crowd-pleasing products. While crafting bespoke perfumes for customers based on an individual&rsquo;s personality has been a core part of my business, I also specialise in developing scents for brands across different industries.</p>
<p>As a scented storyteller, I study the brands' identities carefully, utilise my marketing knowledge, look at the ingredients, and do research on fragrance compositions to create a scent that echoes with the brands&rsquo; values.</p>
<p>A successful olfactory project will not only help build powerful connections with customers and trigger more positive emotional responses associated with the brand, but it also strengthens brand equity and prompts customers to evaluate the products as being of better quality. And thus, boosting customer loyalty and sales volume.</p>

<p>&ldquo; You previously created a bespoke scent for The Peninsula Hong Kong&rsquo;s guest room amenity collection to exemplify the hotel&rsquo;s rich history and legendary status. Can you walk us through the creative process while designing this scent?"</p>
<p>i was so honoured to be invited to collaborate with such an iconic hotel group. The project was carried out on an international level, which included perfume experts from around the world to create scents for the group&rsquo;s hotels in different locations.</p>
<p>Creating a scent that can truthfully reflect the brand identity as The Grand Dame of the Far East and represent its location in Hong Kong, was no easy task because people know about the hotel so well. The inspiration for the uni-sex scent is closely linked to the history of the incense industry in old Hong Kong which is also how the city was named. I wanted to reconnect with Hong Kong&rsquo;s heritage and create a scent that will help the hotel guests to unwind and enjoy their stay in the hotel thoroughly. Therefore, I chose agarwood&mdash;the most premium incense&mdash;as the key ingredient of the fragrance and mixed it with amber and jasmine flower for a scent that&rsquo;s warm and relaxing to draw people in, without being too overpowering.</p>
<p>&ldquo; Perfume is an excellent way to express your personality and style. While product personalisation isn&rsquo;t a new thing, we&rsquo;ve been seeing a rise in the demand for bespoke perfume in recent years. In your opinion, what has caused niche perfume so popular?"</p>
<p>The perfume industry has long been dominated by big brands which often win customers&rsquo; hearts with fancy packaging and luxury advertising. People didn&rsquo;t think carefully about whether the scents they chose are suitable for them or not, but things have significantly changed over the last few years. Beauty lovers these days are no longer seeking to mirror a universal look, and we have seen a spike in demand for niche and bespoke perfumes that can express the wearer&rsquo;s personality and style.</p>
<p>The rise of digital platforms and greater access to the internet have fuelled the popularity of niche perfumes. Brands with smaller marketing budgets have more advertising options to increase exposure, meaning consumers are given more product options to diversify their fragrance wardrobes too. People these days are looking for something more than just a luxury perfume that can give them higher self-esteem&mdash;a formula that cannot easily be replicated for anyone else, but one that&rsquo;s uniquely their own.</p>
<p>&ldquo;What trends do you forecast in the perfume industry in the next five years? "</p>
<p>I think big brands will continue to dominate and define the trends in the perfume industry. But with the arrival of more niche fragrance brands, which gives consumers more options and a more personalised shopping experience, the winning formula for launching successful fragrance campaigns will be changed with a greater emphasis on creative marketing concepts, instead of relying on packaging design.</p>
<p>The appeal of perfumes from luxury brands is undeniable, and their presence will continue to remain prevalent in the industry with a loyal customer base. Though niche perfume brands might not be able to provide consumers with emotional satisfaction as luxury labels do, they still have a great potential to grow, supported by the growing demand for bespoke products of millennials and Gen Z, who are looking to differentiate themselves from the mainstream and express their individuality. People want to be able to define themselves freely, and niche perfumes will certainly enjoy a surge in popularity among consumers in the coming years.</p>
<p>&ldquo; Can you share a few tips on how to find our signature scent? "</p>
<p>Your scent says a lot about you and can affect how others perceive you, so be sure to choose wisely. Choosing a signature fragrance can take a while, as it is a process of understanding your personality&mdash;inner and outer self. When you spray on the scent, it should feel not only that this scent is who you are, but who you want to be.</p>
<p>Spend some time experimenting with different types of perfumes before making a decision. When searching for your scent, look at your lifestyle and personality to narrow down your options. The scent you choose can also depend on mood and occasion, and it&rsquo;s totally okay to have more than one signature scent.</p>

<p>&ldquo; What is the correct way to apply perfume? How to make it last longer? "</p>
<p>Before learning the tricks to apply perfume, people need to distinguish between different types of scents: parfum, eau de parfum, eau de toilette, and eau de cologne&mdash;each comes in varying concentrations of fragrance oils. For example, parfum has a higher concentration of fragrance oil than eau de toilette and eau de toilette, which means it carries a stronger scent and can last longer. Most of the luxury perfumes on the market usually come in high concentration too.</p>
<p>For perfumes with high concentrations, it&rsquo;s best to apply them directly to the skin as body heat will help emit the scent better. To make your scent last longer, you should also target the warmest of your body with thin skin, that is, the pulse points of the neck, inner elbows and wrists. How long the scent lasts is dependent on how dry your skin is, and that&rsquo;s the reason why everything smells stronger in summer than in winter.</p>
<p>It&rsquo;s also important to note that every fragrance smells different on every person. Your skin type and the amount of acidity in your skin will affect how the ingredients react with your body chemistry, too.</p>

<p>&ldquo;What are your thoughts on scents and seasons? Do you change your fragrance seasonally? "</p>
<p>People often choose fragrances according to the seasons and mood, for example, opting for something fruity and floral for summer and the vibrant mood it associates with; and wearing woody scents during the colder months. But I&rsquo;d rather associate scents with emotions and memories.</p>
<p>I love wearing my Dare Eau de Parfum which features fresh, cool minty notes in winter as it brings back my favourite skiing memories in Niseko.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Is there a motto that you always strive to live by? Can you share some words of inspiration for those who are aspiring to become perfume experts? "</p>
<p>Walk the ice, take risks and work from your gut no matter what anyone else says. There are no shortcuts to success, and if perfumery is your passion, follow it and be prepared to work hard. Not everyone&rsquo;s born with talented noses, but one is born with the potential to develop blending techniques and achieve their own career goals in the field. Be brave, be creative, and believe in possibilities.</p>

<p>&ldquo;What's next for Intime Artisan de Parfum? Are you working on any new exciting projects?"</p>
<p>I will continue to host bespoke perfume workshops and launch more fragrances to expand my current product lineup. The latest release is the Journey of Love collection, which features six chapters of love with different scents created to represent a woman's emotions in different stages of love.</p>
<p>A car fragrance project is also in the works. I&rsquo;ve been sourcing premium ingredients and experimenting with different combinations to create pleasant scents that will significantly enhance customers&rsquo; driving experience. It&rsquo;s currently in soft launch for VIPs and I can&rsquo;t wait for you to try it.</p>
<p>And of course, I will motivate myself to work on more scent branding projects to help businesses create their olfactory logo and strengthen their brand image!</p>

<p>As the founder of Intime Artisan de Parfum, Angel Cheung uses scent to shape experience, express emotions and create memories. With over 10 years of experience in the perfume industry and profound knowledge as an aromatherapist, in her workshop, bespoke perfume can be a scent signature. What captures our attention? What brings us back for more? What is the perfect vessel for memory? How does a story keep us hooked, haunt us forever? The answer for Angel Cheung, of course, is scent. &ldquo;Scent over the sentence,&rdquo; says Cheung. &ldquo;The experience can be shaped, the emotions can be expressed and the memories can be created.&rdquo;</p>
<p>A Journey of Self-Discovery For her, for her brand, perfume-making is a journey of self-discovery from the inside out. Brought to life by the trigger of an irresistible scent, the memories, the emotions, the feelings, every tiny detail comes to the fold, surrounding us in the present. But before that &mdash; what is the story? What created it, inspired it? What are the most fitting notes to match, and what scent makes you smile, conjures up those memories? The perfumer is the composer of fragrances, but you are the composer of your own stories.</p>

<p>&ldquo; An Inspirational Trip"</p>
<p>In 2015, Cheung travelled to Grasse, the cradle of the perfume industry. Resting in the peaceful hills above the famous French Riviera town &mdash; far from the hustle and bustle of city life &mdash; she found herself immersed in the world of scents. Apart from studying perfume mechanics at the local school, she visited Grasse&rsquo;s historical museums, local perfumeries and botanical gardens. When she came across a perfume workshop designed for those with a budding interest to learn and create their own fragrances under the direction of experienced professionals, she found an answer to what her heart had long been searching for. &ldquo;People love perfume, but they can just buy it at a store; they have no concept of how to create it or much knowledge about perfume,&rdquo; says Cheung. &ldquo;It is my inspiration to create extra value for people who love perfume. So I brought the whole concept to Hong Kong, and then started to launch my brand.&rdquo; This interview has been edited and condensed for clarity.</p>
<p>&ldquo; What was your inspiration behind the launch of Intime Artisan de Parfum? "</p>
<p>I have some background &mdash; I was a marketer for big beauty brands, and perfumery was part of my role. I&rsquo;m really fascinated about how scent can be so exciting, and really use a scent to engage people, instead of the brands just selling the products, and then people buying the perfume only for the brand name, the advertising and the fancy packaging. I wondered whether I could just use the scent instead of all this marketing to really engage people. I started to think about making something new and bringing additional value to people.</p>
<p>&ldquo; Many brands have their own muse, do you have one? If not, where do you draw your inspiration？"</p>
<p>I don&rsquo;t say I have a specific muse, because I think as a perfumer. I position myself as a scent storyteller; you have to be very observant and sentimental to the things that happen around you, and also the people you deal with. And then you have to remember to set mental events for lots of things: your feelings, your emotions and so on. My creations are actually mainly from what&rsquo;s happening around me and people around me, more than just one muse. They inspire me to create. My creative style is really a kind of a storytelling approach, so my collections, every one of them has their own story. Like The Love Collection, I put it into a discovery set showing the six chapters of love. Every woman will have these kinds of feelings and emotions with every different stage of love, so these six different chapters have descriptions of feelings and emotions. And this is the performance material, like the different chapters of a film. I also get inspiration from my own memories and stories, like skiing at Niseko. Even though right now I cannot fly there, I still can feel the emotion. Like the Nice Collection, which is the feeling that I have for the guys I came across. When I smell it again, I can remember the people there &mdash; this is the way that I create my creations, and all of the things actually are the muse for me. <img alt="" height="286" src="https://intimeperfume.com/media/wysiwyg/JOL_Discovery_Set_slider.JPG" width="381" /></p>
<p>&ldquo; If you had to use perfume to tell your own story, which ingredients would you choose and why? "</p>
<p>I haven&rsquo;t had this creation yet &mdash; to make scents to create my own story &mdash; but in case I have to do that, I think I will pick a core to be the base note that has some oriental, woody and animalic notes. And also have the openings of some citrus and green with some sweet rosy notes, with a hint of some spice. It will be a kind of reflection of my state of mind. It is a sophisticated and grounded personality, and with a romantic heart filled with joy and hope. But I think because it&rsquo;s kind of conveying my present state of mind, so it should be changing from time to time.</p>
<p>&ldquo; If you could describe perfume in one word, what would it be? "</p>
<p>Storytelling. As I mentioned, they&rsquo;re always talking about how to use scents to express memories, emotions and experiences. If you really seriously look into perfume, it&rsquo;s not just a nice, pleasant smell. Actually, what you wear defines your identity, or defines what kind of person you are. Or most, your inner self and your public self. So I think this is something more in-depth, for when you appreciate a piece of scent or you first get to know somebody, and then from the scent that you have some questions or ideas of what that person will be.</p>
<p>&ldquo; What&rsquo;s next for Intime Artisan de Parfum? Do you have any upcoming workshops or projects that you can share? "</p>
<p>I think what impressed people the most is the bespoke perfume-making experience. The perfume is really your own and controls lots of different kinds of ingredients. And I think this is the first phase for my brand, which I am pursuing now. But I think maybe it&rsquo;s time for me to move to the next level &mdash; corporate scent branding will be one of my major focuses in the coming years. The business scent represents the brand; it helps people to register the brand, how to differentiate it from competitors and also engages customers in emotion and boundaries. I incorporate my knowledge and experience in marketing and perfumery to help brands to create their olfactory logo, which is not just a pleasant smell, but also carries a brand DNA to create the desired brand image and brand memorability. The recent project that I did for The Peninsula Hong Kong &mdash; I am the fragrance curator for the room. I have to understand the hotel, its history, its culture, its brand DNA and also understand more about the customers, and what message they want to convey from the scent, to make it unique and differentiate from the competitors.

<p>Also, the image of The Peninsula, which is very prestigious and very unique. It is quite difficult to manage ingredients; it&rsquo;s very powerful and has strong masculinity, so I have to balance it and make it more unisex. I have to make use of this scent to represent a Hong Kong story &mdash; that&rsquo;s why I combines agarwood, a native Hong Kong wood used to make the world&rsquo;s most prized incense, with jasmine and amber to create a unique scent that ties Hong Kong&rsquo;s long legacy as a trading hub with the story of The Peninsula Hong Kong, exemplifying the hotel&rsquo;s grandeur and prominence. What comes out is a very unique scent that is unisex for prestige and heritage, and also a smell that can make people feel relaxed and calm. People staying in the hotel want to get away from the crowd and the hustle of city life; they want to totally refresh themselves through the vacation, so it is important that we know the scent really helps them to have this emotional improvement in their state of mind. This is what makes it different. That&rsquo;s why I think it is very important for a brand to make use of scent branding, to increase its brand equity in the long run. This is the next move we&rsquo;re going to do or pursue.</p>

      <title><![CDATA[The Standard《Making Scents》]]></title>

<p>Perfumes were never a part of Intime's founder and now-perfumer Angel Cheung's childhood. Her mother did not wear any scents and her first memories of fragrance were Florida water and baby powder, which still triggers memories of childhood.</p>

<p>"I did not realize that I had a good sense of smell until I worked for perfume brands, where I started to appreciate perfume and understand the story behind it," she said.</p>

<p>Instead, Cheung read marketing for her undergraduate and master's degree at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong respectively.</p>

<p>"Actually, my whole career is marketing, from my academic background to my work. I devoted my whole life to marketing."</p>

<p>Describing herself as a creative person who feels stagnant with repetitive tasks, she found marketing perfect for her as it gave her the chance to realize her ideas. "Marketing may seem like common sense, but it is not. It is a very conceptual and very strategic subject."</p>

<p>She was in the marketing industry for over a decade, starting with fast-moving consumer goods before moving to luxury goods, where she first learned more about perfumes and the seed of interest was planted.</p>

<p>"Perfume was one of the aspects of my role. In the beauty industry, which is made up of cosmetics, skincare, and perfume, perfume is the smallest business among the three. But I found that perfume can engage the customers' emotions the most, whereas people focus on the practical results and benefits with skincare and cosmetics," explained Cheung.</p>

<p>While she did not know anything about perfume-making, she observed that people ware always excited about the visual aspects, such as advertisements, instead of the product itself.</p>

<p>"I wondered if we could use the olfactory aspect to engage people. Could scents already be powerful enough to engage the customers?"</p>

<p>In her free time, she studied as a certified aromatherapist. So when she had a career break, she flew to Grasse - considered the perfume capital of the world - to learn the craft in the summers of 2015 and 2016.</p>

<p>"I felt that aromatherapy did not give me room for creativity," she said. "I had always aspired to tell stories through perfume."</p>

<p>Her studies in Grasse exposed her to different types of fragrance materials and the training of a perfumer, such as memorizing different scents and building blends.</p>

<p>After her course, she launched Intime Artisan de Parfum in December 2015.</p>

<p>French for intimate, the brand name Intime also gestures to the relationship between a person and their perfume, which becomes a part of oneself.</p>

<p>The brand's latest offering is the Journey of Love Collection, which describes the different stages of love. There is also a discovery set for those who would like to try out all six fragrances of the collection.</p>

<p>Cheung also holds private workshops teaching participants to create their own fragrances.</p>

<p>"What inspired me to start this was that I joined a layman's workshop for tourists in Grasse and realized that perfume making did not have to be too technical," she said.</p>

<p>"I don't want to just sell perfumes. I think the value within is to help people learn more about perfume and find a fragrance that most suits them."</p>

<p>Cheung also incorporated her expertise in perfumery into marketing, and started helping brands create their own olfactory logo.</p>

<p>"Scent branding is a long-term marketing strategy. It is not like advertisements, where there is an immediate reaction that helps drive the sales," she explained. "Of our five senses, smell gives us the strongest memories and influences our emotions. If we use the right scent, the brand image and customer experience can be imprinted in their minds."</p>

<p>One of her latest projects was to create a bespoke scent for The Peninsula Hong Kong. Her blend of jasmine, agarwood and amber can now be found among hotel amenities.</p>

<p>"Perfume-making is a journey of self-discovery from the inside out," she said.</p>

<p>今天行經尖沙咀某商場，總被一陣的呍呢嗱香味「搶奪嗅覺」，亦即是所謂香味品牌營銷（Scent Branding）的一種，但效果有彈有讚。港產調香師張詩敏（Angel）說，其原理是「用一個客人喜愛很甜的味道，吸引他們留耐一點」。</p>

<p>Angel曾為半島酒店創作專屬沐浴用品，以香氣駕馭感官之法，她自然明瞭，如何按照品牌的形象和個性，增強其辨識度和忠誠度，才是marketing上的關鍵所在……</p>

<p>Angel認為香味品牌營銷 (Scent Branding)」不只以氣味吸引顧客、刺激消費，更是透過「香氣標誌」與客人建立情感聯繫，以「香氣說故事」。</p>

<p>現在拿起香港半島酒店的沐浴用品，都有Angel Cheung這個名字。半島酒店集團去年在旗下多間酒店所在的城市，邀請了當地的調香師，設計每間酒店專屬的香氣，Angel作為Perfume Artisan（香水創藝師）有幸被邀作香港的代表。 「如何將半島酒店與香港的特色緊扣，是一大考驗。故其香水主體會是沉香，因相傳香港名字的『香』字是指沉香，也是最矜貴的香氣，本地也有出產，切合半島這『遠東貴婦』的稱號。另外也選了茉莉和琥珀味，前者有典雅的感覺，後者具歲月沉澱的歷史感，也與半島一脈相承。」</p>
<p>香薰香水大不同</p>
<p>踏上調香師之路，Angel說並非偶然。她畢業於香港中文大學市場學理學碩士課程，畢業後從事與美容相關的市場推廣工作。「其實模式都一樣，新產品推出，做廣告宣傳，過程中學到不少東西，但似是流水作業。記得那時在Beauty產業鏈中，護膚品是銷售榜首，其次是化粧品，最後才是香水。2007年我想休息充電，就到法國學法文。」 回港後，Angel繼續在美容行業工作，但開始留意香水製作，並花了一年時間上了香薰治療師的課程。「對我來說香薰有點難度，要記好多化學名稱，還有精油的拉丁文等等，但我又喜歡接受挑戰。認識愈深，愈明白香薰和香水的分別：香薰是wellness，有其實際的功能，反之香水是藝術性，情感色彩濃烈，就想好好鑽研這門學問。」</p>
<p>法國格拉斯 拾香記</p>
<p>結果Angel就再到香水業之都的法國格拉斯（Grasse），讀了兩年的summer course，完成了香水鑑賞及調配學的課程。「有時女士買完香水，用過幾次覺得不適合就不用，其實好浪費。在法國唸香水課程，感受到香水能表現自己的style，而每個人都想有屬於自己的味道。之後想，何不將法國那一套搬來香港？」 Angel說，香水要傳遞的，其實不是有多少種花香的味道：「課程中學如何拆解香水成份，並要形容香的味道，就是各木質草本都有不同，如檀香較creamy而soft、廣霍香較泥土味重、沉香初頭帶苦，但後段又有點甘甜。」</p>

<p>Angel說具十多廿年年資的專業調香大師，能記得逾千種的香味，並可分析出其組成結構，中間要對化學成分很了解。Angel表示：「自己沒他們咁叻，只能記百多二百種常用的香味。但調香有時連繫人的情感，像替半島設計香味，作為香港人，就能以自己的經驗，調製出香港的地道情懷，我覺得創作和藝術上有這個sense。」</p>

<p>創立自家品牌 香水塑造個性</p>
<p>2015年，Angel回港創立自己的品牌Intime Artisan de Parfum，研發了不同類型的香水創作工作坊。「很多律師都喜歡香水，我到他們那裏做企業培訓，會因應她們的需求，像度身訂做西裝般設計香水，以營造出一份優越的形象。」Angel不諱言品牌成立之初，因香港較少人接觸製作香水這回事。「將沒有人認知的事推廣出去，絕對是一大挑戰。」</p>

<p>Angel以「香氣說故事（Scent Storytelling）」為她品牌的創立宗旨：「香水有前、中、後段的層次，配搭下來是很深奧，一般女士如何挑選和理解香味這回事？在香水製作中，可從香味中發掘自己的內在個性。試過有客人性格急躁，但香氣可影響情緒，調配不同花味的香水，可帶出一份從容大方的感覺，客人試過說有好轉。對我來說，那份滿足感也非金錢能衡量。」</p>

<p>疫情持續 推出自家護膚霜 疫情持續近兩年，Angel說企業的工作坊全部停止，並將原先的計劃打斷。「影響是如斷一臂，客人只好預約上我的公司作工作坊，幸好口碑不俗。我也設計出一些香水的套裝，有着指南，學員再用zoom調製出香水，效果都幾ok。另外，也會出自己的搓手液和hand cream，也是回應疫情的舉動，反正自己也有需要用。hand cream以之前做的『愛情故事』為主題，由初戀到結婚為貫穿，滋潤得來又親膚。」</p>

<p>美輪美奐的包裝、攻陷眼球的品牌宣傳、知名巨星的熱烈推介&hellip;&hellip;多少人在選擇香水時不靠人云亦云，而是隨嗅覺而行，探索真正與自己連結的香氣？「每個人的個性與特質不盡相同，因此應該擁有演繹自己獨特性的專屬香水，以香氣訴說個人故事。」 曾於國際知名香水品牌任職市場營銷管理層的 Angel，認為坊間大眾化的香水難以展現使用者的性格特質，於是創立香水品牌 Intime Artisan de Parfum，以打造個性化香水為理念，希望更多人能藉香氣演繹出自己獨一無二的氣質，「有些人在選用香水時就如穿衣一樣，按心情或場合選擇。但專屬香水bespoke perfume就如一件度身訂造的衣服，既令人穿得舒適自在，亦最能突顯你的個人風格。」</p>
<p>「當我們裝扮時，多數會將心思放在妝容及衣著等視覺印象上，但其實不少研究也發現，香味更能影響我們給予他人的觀感，留下更深刻的記憶。」意識到香氣對個人演繹的重要，Angel 創製出獨家的「專屬個性香水創作工作坊」Perfume & Personality Bespoke Perfume Making Workshop，讓參加者從不記名的香氣中挑選心儀香味，再透過她對香味與個性的研究知識，分析客人內在特質，並為他們調配出具有獨特風格的專屬高級法式香水．創作坊自 2017 年推出以來深受好評，從過千名顧客的分析結果中，Angel 更引證出香味與個性確實有著微妙的關係。</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">【 調香的過程是一場自我探尋】</p>
<p>馥郁芬芳的花香、沉穩溫暖的木香、甜蜜清新的果香&hellip;&hellip;打開一瓶瓶無名香氣，香氣分子衝撃嗅覺，不經意連結當下情緒與過去回憶。Angel 著我省下左思右想的猶豫，直覺地標記當下對香氣的喜惡，好讓她按照表格上的剔號與交叉作出性格分析，調配出貼合個性的專屬香水，「你的內在有點『男仔頭』，對不？雖然喜愛玩樂，卻又需要獨處時光，而且很愛思考，選擇如此多東方調的人大多是比較知性的。」之後 Angel 按照我的個性及喜好，配合她的調香觸覺與知識，細心衡量每種材料的份量，以及前、中、後調的配搭方式，調配出一瓶度身訂造的專屬香水。對客人而言，除了能夠像鍊金術般調製出一瓶「命定香水」，過程也猶如一趟自我探索的旅程。</p>
<p>「調香是一門藝術與科學。」著迷於香味世界的 Angel 原來曾遠赴「世界香水之都」法國格拉斯Grasse深造香水創作，她認為調香既像科學研發&mdash;&mdash;以專業知識及技術實驗各種香味配搭的可能性；又像藝術創作&mdash;&mdash;表達思想情感，牽起內心共鳴，「香水多一滴、少一滴都令成品大相逕庭，因此探索過程就如做實驗般不斷嘗試，也要對各種材料及氣味有深入認識。但光是技巧並不足夠，就如作曲一樣，你懂得樂理及樂器，也要懂得運用音律去震撼人心，因此要懂得將情感跟每種香氣連結，才能用香氣作為溝通的橋樑，表達所思所感。而香水的前調、中調、後調就如一篇樂章，有前奏、有主調及結尾，是個有故事性、有層次的藝術品，也像我們的性格一樣，有多個不同的面向。」</p>

<p>「以香氣說故事」Scent Storytelling 不但為個人進行演繹，更可為一個品牌、一個地方賦予獨特價值。Angel 的創作風格得到香港半島酒店垂青，近來獲邀為酒店最新推出的環保客房沐浴用品調製專屬香氣。Angel 匠心獨運地混調各種香氣，連繫香港歷史及半島酒店的故事，創作出名為「香中之最」的香氣以彰顯酒店別樹一幟的風格，「作為一個土生土長的香港人，要如何演繹一種具代表性的香氣呢？眾所周知『香港』是香木轉口港，而沉香曾經為本地盛產的香木之一，亦是『香中之王』，因此我以沉香作為主調，突顯半島酒店的尊貴地位；再配以『花中之王』茉莉及琥珀兩種東方調，突出東方韻味，且男女皆受落。」</p>
<p>除了香港半島酒店，Angel 幾年前曾獲美國運通American Express 邀請，為「The Centurion Lounge」 開幕慶典等創作富有主題性的專屬香氣，「當時的『香港』香氣用上蘭花作主調，因蘭花象徵堅忍不拔的剛毅氣質，正好符合香港人不屈不撓的精神；前調用了柑橘以帶出香港明快的生活步伐；而後調則用上乳香及檀香來展現中西合壁的文化面貌，再加上海洋調來象徵維多利亞港這重要地標。」</p>
<p>除了為香水愛好者舉辦各類型的創作坊，擁有豐富品牌營銷策略經驗及知識的 Angel，近年亦積極為不同企業及品牌提供「香味品牌營銷」Scent Branding，「很多品牌將金錢投資在廣告宣傳上，其實為一個品牌建立一種專屬香氣，更能大幅提升品牌的價值。希望未來能為更多品牌進行香氣創作，繼續傳承『以香氣說故事』的理念。」</p>

<p>今年的聖誕，沒有外遊，不鼓勵聚會，但大家卻很忙，忙着追新聞，忙着抗疫。聖誕意味着新一年快將來臨，趁着這平安喜樂的日子，我們走訪了香水師Angel Cheung、桌球名將傅家俊、AaaM Architects和金馬獎最佳導演陳玉勳，看看如何締造平靜心境，安寧度日。</p>

<p>調香師Angel Cheung──用木調香水訴說平靜心靈的故事「香味，是一種很特別的東西，會掀動我們的感情和情緒。」 調香師Angel Cheung如是說。最近，她為香港半島酒店研製了專屬香氣，敍述的是一個timeless glamour、平靜心靈的故事。</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">Angel指出沉香是香中之最，而香港也有出產沉香，因為越來越少，所以越來越珍貴，就像半島酒店的地位崇高，跟香港息息相關。</p>
<p>今年，半島酒店集團在旗下十間酒店所在的城市邀請了當地的調香師，設計每間酒店專屬的香氣，注入客房的沐浴用品（包括洗髮水、護髮素、沐浴液、潤膚露及 香皂）之中。沐浴用品採用親膚天然成分製作及再生物料包裝，務求提升酒店客人的住宿體驗。負責調配香港半島酒店獨有香氣的是Angel Cheung，她擁有英國國際香水協會 （International Fragrance Association） 的香薰治療認可資格，並在被譽為全球香水業之都的法國格拉斯 （Grasse） 完成香水鑑賞及調配學課程，其後更成為了香港手工香水的先行者。Angel為香港半島酒店設計香氣，融入了她對香港半島的印象及對香港的情感：「我很榮幸獲邀為香港半島酒店調配訂製香氣。身為香港人，我對這家別具代表性的酒店有一份很深的情意結，並十分敬佩其悠久的歷史和廣受稱頌的優秀服務。我要創作一款獨特的香氣，讓人馬上聯想到半島酒店的heritage及愉快經歷。可反映酒店濃厚的東方色彩這香氣要genderless，不可偏重男或女；也要令住客感覺平靜，可以鬆馳下來，因為酒店是給客人放鬆或度假的地方，希望他們可以抖擻精神，帶着甜蜜回憶離開。」</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">香港半島酒店已陸續為客房換上Angel研製香氣的新沐浴用品，預計明年初會於所有客房提供。</p>
<p>為滿足這些需求，Angel花盡心思挑選了沉香、琥珀和茉莉創作香氣：「香港這名字蘊含『芳香的海港』之意，代表着她曾經作為香中之王沉香等矜貴香木貿易中心的悠久歷史。琥珀的東方韻味則呼應了半島酒店作為本地歷史最悠久酒店的地位，而別稱『花中之王』的茉莉，突出了香港半島酒店優雅的亞洲風采。這款香氣所選用的材料，是向香港獨特的文化和歷史致敬。」 Angel認為香氣是一個說故事的媒介：「我做香水不只是談香氣，而是融入了個人感情與回憶，我在narrate一個故事。」透過香氣，她敍述了一個繪影繪聲的半島酒店故事：「半島酒店香氣的創作灌注了我的經歷與回憶。入到半島，即刻有page boy歡迎你，感覺很溫暖、舒服，就像茉莉的感覺。入到房間，雖然在尖沙咀，但感覺很寧靜，房間的主色為木調，很寧靜。夜晚，nourish自己的時候，淋浴有種homey感覺，shower gel帶點海洋感覺。第二天check out，個人totally refresh. 每個環節環環相扣，帶給你難忘回憶。我希望日後你再用這個香氣，也會記起在半島似家一般的開心感覺。」Angel從香薰治療師的角度分析，木調的氣味、茉莉也有平靜情緒的作用，所以香港半島酒店的專屬香氣可為人帶來舒泰的心情。聖誕節將到，Angel建議不妨試試綠松木的香氣，讓我們彷彿置身森林，尋找片刻寧靜。</p>

<p>There is a mysterious power to our sense of smell &ndash; scents can, in an instant, transport us back to childhood, remind us of people or places, or even evoke an unexpected emotional response. When it comes to choosing a fragrance, it is usually a case of trial and error, sampling a range of perfumes to find the one that best captures our preferences, from powdery to herbaceous and heady to delicate. But for those who want to take their signature scent one step further, a growing number of perfumers are offering customers the opportunity to create a bespoke fragrance &ndash; a scent that defines who you are and the kind of response you would like to evoke in others. Custom fragrances have been around for hundreds of years. Paris-based British perfumer House of Creed, for example, has crafted perfumes for individuals since Tailoring the intangible A bespoke scent is the ultimate expression of personal style. the 18th century. Now, perfume houses around the world, including Fragonard in Paris and Grasse, Goest Perfumes in Los Angeles, and Floris in London, all offer bespoke options.</p>

<p>Penhaligon&rsquo;s, founded in the late 1860s by William Henry Penhaligon, a Cornish barber became court barber and perfumer to Queen Victoria, recently elevated bespoke perfume to the level of couture. Alberto Morillas, the nose behind some of the world&rsquo;s most recognisable scents &ndash; from Calvin Klein&rsquo;s CK One and Tommy Hilfiger&rsquo;s Tommy to Marc Jacobs&rsquo; Daisy &ndash; will, for &pound;35,000 (S$62,000) or more, create a truly one-of-a-kind fragrance. The formula, of course, will remain a secret that&rsquo;s kept under lock and key at Penhaligon&rsquo;s until it&rsquo;s reordered on demand. Clients are assured that it will never be replicated.</p>

<p>&ldquo;A bespoke perfume expresses an individual&rsquo;s uniqueness in terms of personality and mood,&rdquo; says Angel Cheung, a Hong Kong-based aromatherapist, who studied the art of perfumery in Grasse, the French town where Chanel No. 5 was created. &ldquo;The experience is highly personalised; nothing like the traditional purchase of branded perfumes at a store.&rdquo; Cheung now runs Intime Artisan de Parfum, a perfume studio where she offers group and private perfume-making sessions. Participants intuitively choose their favourite scents from a range of 32 unlabelled blue bottles divided into top, middle, and base notes. Then she provides a personality analysis based on the selection and creates a perfume to match. &ldquo;Most of my customers tell me the personality analysis based on their ingredient selection is spot on, and, more amazingly, the fragrance blend I create from that evokes many memories for them,&rdquo; she says. Cheung&rsquo;s intimate interaction with customers revealed that people&rsquo;s scent choices often do not match gender expectations. &ldquo;The market tends to stereotype certain perfume profiles based on gender, such as floral for women and aromatic or aquatic for men. But from my experience, many men actually prefer floral notes to herbal or spicy scents under blind testing, while some women look for woody and spicy notes. I think this might be one of the reasons why mainstream perfumes are losing a share to niche brands. People no longer want to be stereotyped by their fragrance choices.&rdquo; Indeed, for perfume aficionados, bespoking a fragrance is an opportunity to create a personal brand, and be identified by a specific aroma that defines their unique personality and style. With so many possibilities on what you can achieve, why wear what everyone else is wearing when you can create a perfume that reflects exactly who you are?</p>

      <title><![CDATA[Harper's Bazaar 《5 個噴香水方法令香氣更持久更個人化》]]></title>

<p>1. 噴香水於皮膚上散發個人化氣息</p>
<p>除非你的皮膚對香水敏感，否則香水應噴在皮膚上。因為香水與我們個人獨特的體味及體溫有着微妙的化學作用，因此噴同一瓶香水於不同人身上，也會有不同效果。所以當大家購買香水時，也要將香水噴在身上，從而確定香水是否適合自己。你大可以將數種不同的香水噴於雙手不同部位，然後逛街大概半個小時，再嗅嗅不同的香水，看看自己真正喜歡哪種香氣。</p>

<p>有些人喜歡把香水噴於空氣中，然後置身其中，感覺香氣更能均勻分佈於全身。但其實這不是一個理想方法，因為部分較輕的香水份子在空氣中已揮發掉，降落在身上的香水份子只是很少部分，所以香氣並不持久，而且非常浪費，因此並不建議。&nbsp;</p>

<p>2. 噴香水於脈搏位置讓香氣更能散發</p>
<p>一般來說，身體上的脈博位置是理想的噴香水位置，如手腕、耳背、頸側、內手㬹、膝蓋後及腳踝內側等。因為那裹的皮膚較薄，熱力較高。只需塗上少許香水，便可散發出更有深度的幽香。不過，如果你的體溫偏高，又正值又濕又熱的夏天，噴香水於脈搏位置附近的地方，例如前臂、膊頭、胸口等，均可減慢香水的揮發。</p>

<p>3. 香水 EDP 的香氣更持久</p>
<p>香水有不同的等級之分，濃度較高的香水 Eau de Parfum (EDP) 比淡香水 Eau de Toilette (EDT) 或古龍水 Eau de Cologne (EDC) 質素更優勝，持久度較高，一般可維持 6 至 8 小時，層次感也更豐富，不過價錢相對也較昂貴。 EDT 及 EDC 因為酒精成分比較高，揮發也較快，一般只可持續 3 至 4 小時，所以噴的份量也相對需要較多。 <img alt="" src="https://intimeperfume.com/media/wysiwyg/article2/body_image_6_2.png" /></p>
<p>有些人喜歡噴淡香水 EDT 或 古龍水 EDC 在衣服上，避免身體熱力加速其揮發，但也要注意衣服物料是否適宜噴上香水，例如絲質、白色衣物就應避免噴上香水，以免對其造成破壞，或在衣服上留下香水的痕跡。另外，也要避免把不同香水噴灑在同一件衣服上，防止製造出混濁的氣味。</p>

<p>4. 噴上結構完美的香水可減慢香水揮發</p>
<p>完整平衡的前、中、後調香水結構，不但可發揮香水豐富的層次感，也可減慢香水的揮發速度。若香水成分偏重於橘子和果香等前調，如檸檬、西柚、梨子等，香氣會更快消失。相反在後調的配搭中，檀香、沉香等木香調及麝香，均可增加香水的持久力。這些基調更令香水散發溫暖的感覺，輕柔氣息很討好。</p>

<p>5. 噴香水的時間宜於沐浴後</p>
<p>沐浴後，皮膚比較濕潤，有助香氣停留得持久一點。另外，於噴香水之前，可於皮膚塗上一些沒有香味的乳液或同一香水系列的身體乳霜，然後在該位置噴上香水，營造香氣層次，可令香水香味更持久，也令氣味更獨特，減低與別人撞香的機會。</p>

<p>香水會因為香氣，直接讓人產生喜歡或厭惡的情緒。但更深入探討，其實是因為香水魔法。聽起來很像很夢幻，其實香水魔法是一種人體學的自然現象。我們的嗅覺含有 1 百萬個氣味接收體，而這嗅覺系統是直接連繋中樞神經中的杏仁核 (俗稱情感大腦 emotional brain )，從而觸發情緖及記憶，這正解釋為何五感中，嗅覺最能牽動人的情緒。</p>

<p>清新的花香予人溫柔婉約的感覺，香氣討好讓人不期然想靠近。正在蜜運中或者想拍拖的女生，若希望渾身散發浪漫醉人的氣息，可選擇帶有花香為主調的香水，配搭甜蜜溫馨的東方調 (oriental note)，例如香草、琥珀或帶點野性嫵媚的麝香，可増添自信及魅力，說不定可以提升桃花運！YSL Mon Paris 蘊含牡丹及茉莉組成的花香，再配合啤梨及小紅莓的香甜，散發甜蜜氣息</p>

<p>果香及草香調香水激發愉快心情</p>
<p>要開心愉快，充滿正能量，不妨挑選以草香及果香為前調的香水。紫丁香及風信子滿有綠草如茵的生氣；蜜瓜、黑加侖子等果香調甜而不膩，男女士香水也喜歡用以提升愉快感覺。早上出門前噴灑，可以令當天更有活力，迎接一天的挑戰。例如 Goutal Paris Petit Ch&eacute;rie EDP ，以香梨、香桃配以鮮嫩青草，突顯少女的活潑愉快。</p>

<p>橘子調及薄荷香調讓人充滿幹勁</p>
<p>要幹勁十足，為自己打打氣的調子則有橘子及薄荷。橘子調於男士淡古龍水 (Eau de Cologne)中是不可或缺的，可能因為男士們早上要精神抖擻上班的關係吧。其中較受歡迎的有青檸、苦橙等，我就偏愛佛手柑的酸中帶柔的氣息。</p>

<p>至於薄荷則比較偏鋒，很容易讓人聯想到牙膏或薄荷糖，不過若運用得宜，也可發揮醒神效果。例如我創作的 Intime Dare Unisex Eau de Parfum 以滑雪故事為題材，巧妙地運用薄荷配橘子為前調，營造身處雪山感覺。清早灑上，精神為之一振，勇於迎接新挑戰。</p>

<p>芬芳調及木香調有助排解壓力</p>
<p>如果近來壓力大，有點煩燥，不妨使用芬芳調 (aromatic note)及木香調子的香水稍作紓緩，令情緒平伏。芬芳調成分有耳熟能詳的薰衣草、迷迭香等；木香則有檀香及雪松，前者比較柔和中性，後者 dry woody 則較為剛強男性化。</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>可惜近年因工作關係，已有數年放下這嗜好，每到冬天，於Facebook見到以往雪友大哂滑雪照，總使我得個恨字，唯有回味一下舊相及video，就當自己去了☹有不同朋友話要組滑雪團，天啊!係咪又無我份?!</p>
<p>不知是否看了整晚video playback中了雪毒 ，早上醒來有種莫名感覺要去創作一種有關滑雪感覺的香水，那種雪山上清空又帶點chill的氣味，那種在狂風暴雪上山，在能見度極低的山峰滑下去的淆底 ; 大家都Go!Go!Go!，唔通自己企係度食雪咩，嗰種心口只得個勇字，一衝而下的恐懼與快感 ; 大家走了幾轉後，坐低食碗拉麵，喝啖綠茶那種悠然自得。就是將以上元素結合，呢種回憶的氣味便誕生了，由於這香氣不僅代表著一個回憶，更象徵著一種勇於挑戰，富冒險精神的滑雪精神，所以這支打破男女界限，Intime 首支Genderless香氛，命名為，令我在香港噴上這香氣，也感受到Cool &amp; Refreshing，彷彿雪山滑雪的氣息及那種勇於挑戰的滑雪精神。</p>
<p>最近得知有位教練級的雪友Alan於二世古開了一所滑雪學校，心????非常佩服他的勇氣，放下香港一切毅然向自己的理想進發，到一個文化語言不一樣的地方開展新一頁，學校取名&lt;追雪&gt;，可見他有一顆熾熱追夢之心，這種勇於挑戰，富冒險精神的決心，在這個現實的社會已經絶無僅有。但我們深信路係行出來的，回想3年前自己也是憑著心中的一團火，憑著一個信念，由法國進修回港後，開始了專屬香水創作的新路線，慶幸得到傳媒朋友及識香人支持，可以讓更多人認識法式專屬香水創作， 如果能在能力許可的情況下跳出框框，追尋自己理想，將會是一個無悔而不可多得的經歷。</p>
<p>既然呢支是關於滑雪感覺的香水，如果能夠將它分享給雪友，那真的很正，於是我除了向Alan攞些創作靈感外，更提意來個合作，他的學生將有機會得到DARE Eau de Parfum 的旅行試用裝作為於二世古滑雪的紀念品，讓大家將這種對滑雪的思憶帶回香港。</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Angel Cheung began her journey in the world of perfumes by studying at Grasse, France. The city&rsquo;s long been considered the home of perfume-making, so there&rsquo;s really nowhere better if you really want to learn the trade. After returning to Hong Kong, Angel began her own perfume studio &ndash; Intime Artisan de Perfum &ndash; in December 2015. Since then, she&rsquo;s created bespoke scents for countless individuals, and worked with brands like American Express and Hearts of Fire Diamonds to create exclusive perfumes.</p>

<p>I sit down with Angel one Tuesday afternoon for an exclusive &ldquo;personality and perfume&rdquo; workshop. In a clean, whitewashed studio with easy-listening French tunes creating a relaxed atmosphere, I begin the journey of creating my very own perfume &ndash; and discovering what my preferred scents say about me. The experience starts with a blind sniff test of over 30 possible ingredients. So far, so good; it&rsquo;s pretty easy to decide which scents I love (and which ones I don&rsquo;t).</p>
<p>Then comes the reality check. Angel looks over the scents I&rsquo;ve chosen, and grins as she explains what each one reveals about my personality. My base notes combine light aquatic and heavy Oriental scents &ndash; denoting a love of freedom and intellect &ndash; while the top notes draw on fruity, citrus scent like grapefruit, suggesting an efficient, energetic and fun personality. In between, floral middle notes such as jasmine and gardenia indicate a balance between extrovert and introvert traits. Given the chat we&rsquo;ve had leading up to this moment, Angel&rsquo;s not especially surprised at the complexity and contradictions in the scents I&rsquo;ve chosen. And neither am I, really. After all, it stands to reason that personalities are nuanced and complicate. And the perfume I&rsquo;ve created &ndash; which I&rsquo;ve named The Adventurer &ndash; certainly seems to speak to my love to travel and learning.</p>

<p>So clearly, there&rsquo;s a lot more behind perfumes than we think about on a day-to-day basis. So could this be a case of psychology in a bottle? Definitely, if Angel&rsquo;s convictions are anything to go by. In conversation, she throws out the idea of using scent personality analysis as a team-building exercise in a corporate context. Her reasoning? She believes it&rsquo;s a great way to get colleagues to better understand each other, and create a better working dynamic.</p>
<p>So clearly, there&rsquo;s a lot more behind perfumes than we think about on a day-to-day basis. And it&rsquo;s entirely possible that the next time I catch a whiff of Dior&rsquo;s J&rsquo;Adore or Ralph Lauren Polo, I take a quick second to consider what the choice of scent says about its wearer.</p>

      <title><![CDATA[Localiz <<How Does Your Personality Smell? Local Perfume Artisan Invites You to Create Your Own Scent>>]]></title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Having studied perfumery in the French town of Grasse, which gave birth to Chanel No. 5, Angel worked as a marketeer for several major perfume brands over the last decade, before deciding to turn her passion for fragrance creation into her own brand, Intime Artisan de Parfum. In her gorgeous studio, tucked away above the bustling bars of Knutsford Terrace, the certified aromatherapist invites guests to delve into the world of perfume making, sniffing their way through a collection of 32 ingredients to select ones they are intuitively drawn to, which she then uses to create their own signature scent.</p>

<p>But what has this got to do with your personality? Well, I found myself asking the exact same question, as I sat in her studio with a blank marking sheet in front of me, along with a library of unmarked blue bottles displayed in three separate layers. My task was to select several fragrances from each layer &ndash; the top, heart, and base notes &ndash; based entirely on how I felt when I sniffed each one. In theory, removing the possibility of being influenced by the name of ingredients I like the sound of, or the perception I relate to them, would allow me to choose them intuitively, thus revealing a true reflexion of my true character, the way I want the world to see me, and above all, how I want to feel as I go about my everyday life.</p>
<p>Keen to know how that smelt, I made my way through the collection, sneakily trying to guess each fragrance and finding myself surprised at how quickly I was drawn to or turned off by each ingredient. Ticking my way through the list, I soon filled the quote of drops required for each layer of my soon-to-be eau de parfum, and it was over to Angel for the analysis.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">Sniffing my way to self-discover</p>
<p>&ldquo;Hmm, interesting&rdquo;, she said to me with a knowing smile. &ldquo;This is quite a complex selection with many opposing scents&rdquo;. I wasn&rsquo;t entirely surprised at this point &ndash; after all, there are many facets to a personality and I&rsquo;m no exception. According to her analysis of my selection, which weighed more towards citrus over mint, and light floral over heavy floral, with a heavy dose of fruit and a dash of classic spice, white musk, and ambergris (which comes from some species of sperm whale!), I am a &ldquo;playful&rdquo; character with an interesting balance between introvert and extrovert qualities. &ldquo;You love to be surrounded by people, but you also cherish alone time &ndash; perhaps with a good book&rdquo;, she surmised. Well, that is pretty accurate, although if I&rsquo;m being totally honest, I&rsquo;d swap a good book for Netflix.</p>
<p>Angel explained that while the presence of spicy notes indicates assertiveness and a strong suggestion that I &ldquo;know what I am doing and where I am going&rdquo;, the aquatic notes hint at a love of freedom without boundaries. I guess that explains my travel bug mentality and the fact that I have chosen to take my time to &ldquo;settle down&rdquo;. Interestingly, my selection of scents swayed heavily towards more eastern ingredients such as jasmin petal, orchid, and gardenia, which Angel says are less common among tourists visiting the city.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Different nationalities are drawn to different notes&rdquo;, she explained. &ldquo;The popular fragrances that people wear in Paris, for example, are totally different to those enjoyed in London and Hong Kong. Many tourists visiting me from Europe tend to go for different notes to those who are born and raised here.&rdquo;</p>

<p>This isn&rsquo;t surprising really, given the fact that I have spent the last seven years living in Hong Kong and travelling around Southeast Asia at any given chance. But while Angel&rsquo;s analysis of my personality was pretty spot on, what I found interesting is that my signature scent is not at all what I expected, and it wasn&rsquo;t until this morning when I sprayed some on my neck before leaving for work, that I realised it reminded me of my late grandmother.</p>
<p>While I recall she always smelt &ldquo;like flowers&rdquo; and occasionally wore white musk, I don&rsquo;t remember her ever wearing exotic fragrances from the east. But funnily enough my perfume evokes powerful memories of her beautiful English garden, and sunny days spent playing with my siblings when we were kids, pushing each other around in her wheelbarrow and popping fuchsia buds with our naughty little fingers.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Smell is a very powerful and personal thing&rdquo;, Angel explains. &ldquo;I believe the instinctive elements of choosing a scent are past experience, memory, culture, and personal background. That is why a particular smell might help us recall a memory of a person or a place that is meaningful to us. The very name of my brand &lsquo;Intime&rsquo;, is a French word meaning &lsquo;intimate and personal&rsquo; and that is what I strive to offer &ndash; an opportunity for people to create their signature perfume inspired by their own story, tailored to their unique personality, image, and emotions&rdquo;.</p>

<p>They say that &ldquo;home is where the heart is&rdquo;, and there is something quite magical and comforting in the thought that deep down in my subconscious, I carry a little piece of it with me, however far I roam, and however many new experiences I gather along the way. Apparently home is a memory of being a child and playing in the sun-filled garden of my grandmother who I loved dearly and who played a significant role in my formative years.</p>
<p>As a heart-warming finishing touch to her workshop, Angel asks her guests to choose a name for their fragrance so that she can create a label for their personalised bottle. Before my revelation about my grandmother, there was only one clear word that sprung to mind when the freshly mixed notes hit my nose &ndash; Serendipity. It seems to perfectly summarise my journey so far &ndash; a sense of half knowing where I am going, but somehow always ending up in unexpected places and making accidental discoveries thanks to a playful twist of fate. But ask me to pick my ingredients in a few year&rsquo;s time, and the outcome might tell a totally different story.</p>

<p class="v2-processed">The town in Provence is home to dozens of fragrance companies. Some are closely guarded to keep their trade secrets, but there are some, such as Galimard, Fragonard and Molinard, that offer factory tours as well as a chance for visitors to create their own perfume.</p>
<p class="v2-processed image no-float">Cheung, a certified aromatherapist, is offering a similar experience in Hong Kong to anyone interested in making their own signature scent. Her company, Intime Artisan de Parfum, holds regular workshops at various levels, costing between HK$550 and HK$1,380.</p>

<p class="v2-processed image no-float">The process sounds simple at first glance &ndash; add drops of different ingredients to a tiny beaker, stir with a toothpick and pour in alcohol. But as with any chemical experiments, precision and accuracy is key, not to mention a deep knowledge of the characteristics of each fragrance (don&rsquo;t worry, mistakes won&rsquo;t lead to Samsung-like explosions, just an overpowering odour).</p>
<p class="v2-processed image no-float">At the corner of her studio stands a perfume organ, an impressive collection of 170 ingredients, which will probably be overwhelming for novices. But Cheung is there to offer helpful suggestions, picking out several fragrances for each layer (top, heart and base notes) and giving recommendations according to preferences.</p>

<p class="v2-processed">&ldquo;I truly believe that the perfume you wear is more than just a scent, it is also a way for you to communicate,&rdquo; says Cheung. Perfumes reflect our personality, she says. For example, a spicy hint created by animal notes exudes confidence and can represent assertiveness.</p>
<p class="v2-processed link">As for our creation, the middle notes consisted of rose de mai, jasmine and a hint of freesia, while the top notes were a mix of citrus and bergamot. To give it a warm and soft finish, we added white musk with ozone and a drop of sandalwood to the base notes. The final product is sweet and refreshing, but due to its complexity the scent also changes with time.</p>

      <title><![CDATA[Marie Clarie Blog <<解開香薰治療的迷思>>]]></title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>近年香薰治療大行其道，坊間也出現不少將香薰功效「神化」的說法，令大家趨之若慕。無可否認，香薫治療歷史源遠流長，由公元3000年前古埃及人已用芳香療法治病。時至今日，香薰治療於歐洲的法國丶德國及英國發展不俗，但就應用的層次上各有不同。德丶法學派是medical aromatherapy，使用精油的方法是高劑量及可以口服，但這種用作「醫療級」的香薰治療一定要在合資格的專業人士licensed practitioners例如醫生或藥劑師，因應病者情況處方，絶對不是一般市民透過一傳十，十傳百的途徑，自己買來當成藥般使用。</p>
<p>而英國學派則屬於整全香薰治療holistic aromatherapy，是大家比較熟悉的應用方法，主要透過吸入及皮膚吸收的方法使精油於體內發揮作用，提升心身靈健康，不建議口服，手法較為安全溫和。而Intime新鮮人手精製的「香療油精華」(如附圖)，便是透過塗搽於身體脈膊位罝，使精油通過吸入及皮膚吸收的方法，達至情緒舒緩功效。</p>
<p>無論如何，香薰治療本來就是一種很「個人化」的學科，使用者必須清楚知道自己的身體狀況及病歷，如高低血壓，有否婦科病，腎病，皮膚過敏等等，並對所用精油的特性丶禁忌有所認識，才可運用得宜，發揮最佳效果。而長期病患者更應加倍小心使用，聽取專業香薰治療師的建議尤其重要。否則，水能載舟，亦能覆舟。胡亂使用高濃度的精油，後果可以不堪設想。以下是一些有關香薫治療的迷思，希望令大家對精油使用有基本概念。</p>
<p>#1: 精油可以內服?</p>
<p>謹記不要把精油置於水中直接吞服，因為精油不溶於水，有灼傷喉嚨黏膜危險。雖然德丶法學派是可以呑服精油，但要知道這種醫療級的治療是有嚴格制度監管，不是一般人能胡亂使用。</p>
<p>#2使用精油是否一定要稀釋?</p>
<p>除了茶樹及薫衣草外，精油接觸皮膚前一定要以植物油稀釋。如用精油於浸浴，也要先用鹽丶奶丶或精油乳化劑稀釋才可放到水中。</p>
<p>#3孕婦丶小孩丶老人可以用精油嗎?</p>
<p>首3月懷孕不建議使用精油，此外，某些精油孕婦禁用，如甜茴香，快樂鼠尾草，沒藥，羅勒，甜馬鬰蘭等等。不過為安全起見，孕婦不宜隨便使用精油。</p>
<p>小孩與老人要特別小心，注意劑量:</p>
<p>小孩2歲以下&ndash;不用精油</p>
<p>2-12歲建議使用 0.5-1% 精油稀釋於植物油當中 (30ml植物油大約用3-6滴精油; 每湯匙植物油大約1.5-3滴精油)。</p>
<p>65+歲老人或長期病患&ndash; 1-2% 精油(大約10ml植物油用2-4滴精油)</p>
<p>**切記小孩器官發育未完全，老人器官功能退化，使用過多精油會有中毒風險。</p>
<p>#4 使用精油有什麼特別禁忌?</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>橘子類精油(</strong><strong>如佛手柑丶檸檬等)</strong>有機會引起光敏症，建議用後12小時內不要暴曬。</li>
<li><strong>腎弱人士</strong>不建議使用有利尿功效的精油，如杜松子及甜茴香</li>
<li><strong>高血壓人士</strong>不建議使用提升血壓的精油，如迷迭香、百里香等</li>
<li><strong>低血壓人士</strong>不建議使用降低血壓的精油，如伊蘭、薰衣草等</li>
<li><strong>婦科病人士</strong>不建議使用刺激賀爾蒙的精油，如快樂鼠尾草，甜茴香等</li>
<li><strong>癫癎人士</strong>不建議使用精油，如絲柏、甜茴香等</li>
<li><strong>蠶豆症人</strong>士不建議使用精油, 如杜松子及薄荷等</li>
</ul>
<p>#5為什麼同一種精油，價錢可以相差很遠?</p>
<p>要注意精油純度是否100%，溝稀或加入人工雜質的精油價錢會便宜很多，但已失去治療功效。不同產地價格也不同，始終一分錢，一分貨。</p>]]></description>

<p>香薰治療的主角精油，是一種高度濃縮的天然芳香份子精華，一滴玫瑰精油需要60朵玫瑰花的花瓣提煉，由此可見一斑。此外，其份子超微小，滲透性相當高，因此有機會在不知不覺的情況用了很高劑量，日積月累下會有中毒的危險。由於精油如此濃縮，一定要加以稀釋才可用於皮膚上(茶樹和薫衣草除外)，以免皮膚敏感。</p>
<p>玫瑰精油含有超過250種化學成份，結構複雜，除了芳香馥郁更是護膚品的珍貴材料，美容效果卓越。</p>
<p><strong>精油施用於小孩，不能掉以輕心</strong></p>
<p>人體主要解毒器官肝臟，小孩時期仍未發育完成，因此施用高度濃縮的精油於其身上時務必非常小心，否則過多精油積聚體內未能及時代謝排出，會有中毒風險。</p>
<p><strong>注意精油劑量</strong></p>
<p>一般2歲以下小孩不建議使用精油，而小孩用精油的劑量也要少於成人。2-12歲建議使用 0.5-1% 精油稀釋於植物油當中 (30ml植物油大約用3-6滴精油; 每湯匙植物油大約1.5-3滴精油)。</p>
<p><strong>慎選精油</strong></p>
<p>除了注意劑量，也要慎選精油，羅馬甘菊(Roman Chamomile)丶柑(Mandarin)丶薫衣草(Lavender)性質溫和，使用於小孩身上較為安全。羅馬甘菊有鎮靜安撫作用，適用於過度活躍的小孩，與柑一起使用更可令其眠。要改善小孩腸胃問題，羅馬甘菊對腹痛及胃氣脹很有療效，而柑則可幫助排便。至於對付蚊叮蟲咬，使用薰衣草是不錯的選擇。</p>

<p>薰衣草精油性質温和，但於身心靈方面皆有優秀療效，乃香薰治療入門必備。</p>
<p>其他藥性強如百里香(Thyme)，沒藥(Myrrh)，草本類的羅勒(Basil)，簿荷(Peppermint)，刺激性的丁香(Clove)及肉桂(Cinnamon)皆不宜用於小朋友身上。如果大家選購複方精油時，也要注意有否內含此等成份。</p>
<p><strong>應用方法</strong></p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>從法國格拉斯(Grasse)進修香水創作後，回港成立了專屬香水品牌Intime&nbsp;Artisan de&nbsp;Parfum&nbsp;，&nbsp;從事了香水創藝師已差不多兩年，不經不覺過千位客人曾於Intime創作其專屬個性香水，能夠令他們尋回屬於自己的香氣，享受箇中創作樂趣，感到很有意義。</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>在亮麗打扮和得體談吐外，淡淡的個人香氣成了增添魅力的元素之一，雖說大品牌的香水有質素保證，卻只能隨波逐流融入大眾潮流中，若要追求個性化，則可轉向小眾的獨立香水品牌，或是參加香水工作坊來個DIY，為自己調製出世上僅此一樽的個人香水。</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>「在香港講到購買香水，一定是大品牌行先，大家不會講什麼香味，只會講品牌或是香水名。」個性化專屬香水品牌Intime&nbsp;Artisan de&nbsp;Parfum創辦人張詩敏（Angel）笑說，要打破這現象是難以登天，但她也不能只作壁上觀。作為香水狂熱者的Angel，曾遠走至世界香水之都──法國Grasse，深造香水創作藝術，現刻則身體力行地舉辦專屬香水創作坊推廣香水文化，讓參加者化身為調香師，在個多小時的課堂內沉醉在百多種香氣中，親手調配出個人風格的專屬香水。</p>

<p><strong>原為貴族專用</strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>「香水不只是香氣這麼簡單，是一種展現個性的渠道。香水要用心感受，比筆跡更能體現個性。」在正式調配香水前，Angel先講及香水的基礎知識，就如香水曾經是貴族的專屬玩意，皆因香油矜貴得很，每1滴天然玫瑰精油絕對得來不易，要用上60朵鮮花才能集結而成，一般平民根本無能力享用，直到合成材料的出現，才讓香水漸漸走向大眾，甚至衍生出各式各樣的「風味」。</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>純天然的香油為上品，但總有勉強不來的時候，Angel強調道：「果香是不能天然提煉，一定不會有蘋果、橙的天然香油，至於近年流行的海洋調、Sunshine等也不能天然提煉。」她不諱言頂級香水是不會以果香為主調，因為這些香氣多數用於洗手液、淋浴露之中&hellip;&hellip;話雖如此，愛果香香水之士也不是少數。</p>

<p>簡單來說，香水是由不同的香油和酒精組成，因此以試紙聞香便是重要的一環，亦順道認識佛手柑、茉莉花瓣等常見香氣，為此她參考了法國的傳統香水創作，特別訂造有三層階級結構的調香琴，一次過將百多種香調小瓶晒冷，以供深入了解香味和內涵，Angel說：「出色的香水要講求層次，不同香氣的配搭得當才可產生美妙的效果，即使是香煙、皮革等味道也有自身特色，無香臭之分，同樣可以成為出色的香氣元素之一。」</p>

<p>深入了解香味和內涵，就好像衣服配鞋子一樣，慢慢就會找到喜愛的風格，才能找出個性化專屬香水。「即使以後出去買香水時，不會再講『沒那麼甜、清花香』等虛無縹緲又大眾化的個人喜好。」Angel回想初時曾以為自己喜歡花香，後來發現以琥珀、乳香、雲呢拿等脂香和木香為主的東方調才是真命天子，兩者均帶有甜美溫暖氣息的香氣，東方調卻比花香來得有深度，是較有層次感的厚身香調。</p>

<p><strong>組合分三部分</strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>為深入淺出地認識調香技巧，Angel製作了一款工作紙，將香水組合分為Top、Middle和Base，更細心地以木香和花香為男女香水作劃分，共以22滴香油來調出5ml香水，而調香工具甚為簡單，主要是菲林筒大小的玻璃瓶、混合用的牙籤等，皆因香油成分配搭才是重點所在。</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>「調香就是不同香油成分的加加減減，想像跟實際操作是兩回事，要一邊加香油一邊調節，多一滴少一滴都可以轉化為不同風格的香水。」最先調配是Middle主調，別以為橙花是薄身的香氣，事實上帶有如橙皮般苦澀風格的香氣極之突出，即使喜愛也不能多加於3滴，同時亦跟微酸的鈴蘭甚為相襯，混合後可用試紙沾些細聞，Angel建議以甜香的5月玫瑰或是清新的茉莉花瓣來平衡，再如此類推地完成Top和Base的調配，最後將調配好的香油混合酒精成為香水，靜待個多星期後便可使用。</p>

<p>臨近聖誕，若想以香水作禮，又沒時間自行調配香水，也有不同品牌可以選擇，例如一系列花香香水（詳見副稿），必定令收禮者「心花放」。</p>

      <title><![CDATA[香港經濟日報 【人物訪問】藉香水尋找自我 香調師引進法國香水藝術到港]]></title>

<p>已故著名時裝大師 Coco Chanel曾經說過「不擦香水的女人沒有未來」（A women who doesn't wear perfume has no future.）。香水除了能夠彰顯自我個性品味，亦可讓對方留下深刻印象，曾於法國香水之都格拉斯深造香水創作藝術的張詩敏（Angel）於一年前創立自家品牌及工作坊，冀將該門藝術引進香港。</p>
<p>步入紫醉金迷的諾士佛臺，穿過一連串的異國風酒吧後，來到一幢灰色的大樓，按下目的地的樓層。「叮」，升降機門應聲打開了，寫著《Intime Artisan De Parfum Studio》的門牌映入眼簾，是這裡了。迎門的是位身穿白襯衣的長髮女士，我隨她步伐走進工作坊，小小的空間放滿各種香水原材料及製作的工具。室內裝潢以白色及淡綠色為主，與瀰漫於空氣間的淡淡的香味相互映襯成一個安心恬蕩的空間，短短數分鐘內已將外面燈紅酒綠的繁囂隔絕。「香港氣氛緊湊，所以希望透過裝潢來營造一個法式漫活的氛圍，去讓大家享受接下來的香水創作體驗時間。」她笑著解畫。</p>
<p><strong>不擦香水的女人沒有未來?</strong></p>
<p>「她」正是這裡的負責人兼香水創作指導員Angel，對香水充滿熱誠的她，曾毅然辭去高薪厚職遠赴法國香水之都格拉斯深造。眼見本港香水文化仍屬初階，故決意帶著各種香氣及當地的香水文化回港推廣：「很多時大家買香水都是以第一印象『喜不喜歡』或品牌作標準，卻沒有太多深究該香水有何成份、結構、是否適合本人個性特質等，導致常常買錯，成屋香水卻未必有一個真正喜歡的味道。」</p>
<p>於是，Angel於一年前創立自家香水品牌《Intime》及工作坊，協助參與者啟發創意之餘，亦會教授製作香水的技術及知識。於Angel而言，象徵自己的獨特香氣亦如名片般為自己發聲，如濃花香代表女性溫婉嫵媚； 海洋調代表不願受管束的個性；甜甜的果香調則代表開朗活潑等：「正如Mr. Christian Dior有句名言，意思是，女士的香水味道，比她的筆跡更能反映她的個性風格。」Angel說。</p>
<p><strong>教授製作香水技術及知識</strong></p>
<p>香水除了是個人品味的彰顯，亦是自我探索的橋樑。誠如剛才所言，不同調子的香水代表不同的個性；同一道理，透過選擇及配搭不同香調的過程中，亦能探索自我潛藏的個性。因此，Angel認為戀人間亦可以藉著香水創作而彼此了解更多：「以一對因工作關係而不能經常相見的情侶為例，他們早前來這裡體驗香水創作，及後表示平常的拍拖活動都是行街睇戲食飯，少有這樣的Quality Time去相處、去深入了解對方，其實這樣的時光對鞏固一段關係是十分重要的。」</p>
<p>Angel透露，雖然現時上工作坊的客人多為女士或情侶，但亦有些對香味有要求、或追求生活品味的男士參與，可見香港的男性亦十分重視儀容打扮，故未來亦會多推動男士市場。此外，專屬作品或產品向來是送禮佳品，故《Intime》不時推出節日優惠活動及禮盒套裝，如剛過去品牌成立一周年紀念，除了多個熱門產品享有折扣，更有小禮物回贈，而現場及網上銷售的部份收益亦會捐予香港救助兒童會作慈善用途，讓愛心在空氣中散發。Angel預計聖誕節期間將會是營業額的高峰期，故已積極準備多種特別產品中，如讀者仍在禮物煩惱，亦不妨考慮製作一支獨一無二的香水吧。</p>
<p><strong>後記:</strong></p>
<p>訪問過後，Angel拿出一瓶香水讓我嗅嗅。我好奇一聞，香氣濃淡相宜，心想這瓶香水的定是既優雅又神秘的女性。原來，這正是早前Dodo姐生日時，Angel特別為她調製的禮物，認為很適合表達Do姐知性美的一面。「這是一瓶以Trinity Flowers 作主調的香水，希望帶給她 LUCK (Lily of the Valley鈴蘭)，CHARM (Rose de Mai五月玫瑰) 及HAPPINESS (Jasmine Sambac阿拉伯小茉莉) 。」</p>
<p>聽說，Do姐收到後很是喜歡，在剛過去的港姐及港男決賽當日亦有噴上呢。</p>

      <title><![CDATA[蘋果日報 《香水都有性格形象 調出彭于晏男神氣味》]]></title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p class="ArticleIntro">Angel本是位香薰治療師，也曾做香水銷售的工作。閒來憑感覺朋友調配香水，玩猜猜這是誰。一開始她給我一枝香水猜猜看，我一聞，腦裏出現一個穿著名牌套裝裙，單手叉腰，一手在指指點點惡上司形象浮現腦海：「我想遯後。」我咁答。那竟是《口水多過浪花》中，她為Do姐特調DODO CHENG香水，余迪偉一聞就答：「個味好惡！」搞到Do姐啤住佢。</p>
<p>那香味不俗，但明顯霸氣外露。一直以為選香水，可以看出人的性格。原來可以調返轉，用香水描繪你的各種形象。我們就再玩個遊戲，請她就幾個明星調香水，看大家猜不猜得出來是誰的感覺。她調配了「清爽甜蜜像BB味的蘇麗珊味」、「性感女人味的舒淇味」、「聰明有深度但有點辛辣的黃子華味」及「外向好動，陽光下的彭于晏味」，當然冇幾多人估中隱藏人物，有些年輕受訪者更覺得成熟的濃花香「好俗」，但總算嗡得出「好似好聰明又吋吋哋」(黃子華味)，「Sporty的溫暖男孩」(彭于晏味)的感覺。</p>
<p><strong>聞香 志在靜心</strong></p>
<p>兩年前Angel跑到法國南部格拉斯Grasse，一個盛產優質玫瑰、薰衣草及各種香草的香水之都，學習調配香水。她喜歡的，不只是香水，重要是悠閒地嗅著不同的香氣，整個人舒服放鬆的感覺。上課的日子，每天只學熟習十種氣味，靜靜的嗅。休息時間一班同學喝著甜酒，在香氣中談天說地：「我覺得香港每日衝衝衝忙工作，真的很需要一些平衡。我們真需要感受靜著心，嗅著香氣調香，慢活的感覺。」她也發現，法國人真視香水為自己的形象與皮膚，香港人只把香水當物品，沒甚麼要求：「好多時只跟著市場新出品，靚包裝，新廣告，就跟著去買。我覺得都頗麻目去買一些東西。可能家有20枝香水，但常用的只一兩枝。因為買時聞落覺得不錯就買回家，但香水是會變調的，過幾小時後，味道不同了就又擺一邊了。其實我覺得應該由最基本做起，有基本的知識，就更清楚怎麼挑選。」所以在港開班教人調香水。</p>
<p><strong>霸氣與智慧靠玉桂 成熟性感靠狸貓</strong></p>
<p>一般都說香水有三種主要調子，溫柔成熟的花香；清爽甜蜜的果香；成熟穩定的木香等，但那之外，還有更多調子，營造出微妙的感覺。Angel說，香港女生普遍愛既甜又清爽的感覺，如蘇麗珊味中添加的香粉味(Powdery scent)，鳶尾花(Iris)及溫暖甜蜜東方調的 安息香(Benzoin) 都很受歡迎；想給人有內涵，有深度但又有點囂張感覺的，可以加入微辛調的丁香(Clove)、玉桂(Cinnamon)及肉豆寇(Nutmeg)；那些較中性的，同時適合男生女生的香味，同時可製造外向、有活力的感覺。如海洋調(Aquatic note) ，加進一些氧的成份。或者加龍涎香(Ambergris)。龍涎香是抹香鯨胃裏的分泌物，鯨魚吐出或排出後，會飄浮在海面，好珍貴的，Angel：「味道好似你去了懸崖邊深呼吸時嗅到的味道。」</p>
<p>而想給人性感成熟，誘惑的感覺嘛，除了香濃的白花(White)，晚香玉(Tuberose)、依蘭依蘭(YLANG-YLANG )等，重要是動物調。如剛剛說的龍涎香，還有取自動物腺體，害爾蒙分泌的氣味，如麝香及狸貓(Civet cat)的分泌物。性感狸貓是甚麼味？嗚嘩！個個聞完乸埋口面：「根本係未清貓砂盤味！」只要份量得宜，其化學作用卻能引出性感的感覺。而且，現在這些氣味多數都在實驗室做人工合成模仿的，不必傷害動物。</p>

<p class="font_8">Angel曾在香水品牌公司任職高層，深感女生選擇香水時總是取決於品牌和廣告效應，忽略了香水本身的獨特性。她認為顧客才是創作香水的靈感來源，每位女性都值得擁有一支帶有個人風格的專屬香水。Angel於是遠赴有「世界香水之都」法國格拉斯(Grasse)深造，帶同法式香水創作的造詣，讓港人能親身體驗到創作個人專屬香水的樂趣和滿足感。</p>

<p class="font_8">在Intime的工作室內一共藏有170多種香水氣味。在工作坊中，參加者有機會接觸到由Angel精選的40多款常用香氛。以調配香水的基礎formula：主、變、和、基，按自己的喜好調配。在創作過程中，參加者可以憑嗅覺更進一步認識自己的性格：文靜的花香、甜美的果香、充滿活力的柑橘或海水、有性格的皮革味、偏向沉穩的木調等等。在不同味道的層疊交織，打開感官未被發掘的一頁。</p>

<p class="font_8">編者一直認為自己有「嗅覺缺陷」，無法辨別不同的氣味。但Angel指不少參加者都有同樣的錯覺，但其實有研究指出人類其實能夠儲存大量記憶，透過workshop就是讓你開啟這個經常被忽視的感官。</p>

<p class="font_8">Intime的香水創作入門課程(Induction)男女均可參加，為情侶拍拖提供一個另類選擇。於香水創作過程中，二人可更深入了解對方的喜好及內在個性，從而建立默契，提高二人的親密感。初階課程主要教授香水的基礎知識，初步了解個性化香水的基本調香技巧，親嘗創作5ml的Eau de Parfum。有興趣的學員可以再進一步參加Explorer，調配一枝15ml的Eau de Parfum。</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>現代女性講求個人品味，就連身上所散發的香氣，亦希望與眾不同。假如閣下亦有同感，香水創作坊應可滿足到你，參加者不但能親自打造個人專屬香水，更能透過自調香水的過程了解潛藏個性，相當有意思！<br /><br />文︰Angel　圖︰蔡建新　模特兒︰Kit@Primo<br /><br />曾於世界香水之都法國格拉斯深造香水創作藝術的張詩敏（Angel），於月前開設了香水創作坊Intime Artisan de Parfum Studio，有別於一般DIY香水班，導師會先讓學員透過香調探索自我潛藏個性，然後再學習香調配搭及份量控制等專業技術。「根據分析，五感中嗅覺的記憶最強，故此創作個人化香水可喚起自己的回憶。另外每個人喜歡哪一種香味，亦反映了他的性格」，Angel道出香水個性化理念並不只是Gimmick這樣簡單，而是一種生活態度和享受。<br /><br /><strong>百七種香水自由組合</strong><br /><br />　　創作室提供一百七十種香調選擇，每瓶香水大概可容納六十五滴香水，可調配出層出不窮的組合。不過Angel建議不要混合太多不同香水，否則香味會太複雜，大約十數種便可。參加兩小時入門班已可學懂香水基礎知識、調香技巧，以及製作個性化專屬香水。<br /><br /><br /><strong>自調香水Q &amp; A</strong><br /><br />Q︰自調香水可以存放多久？<br /><br />A︰一般來說最少可擺放五年以上，建議放在乾涼地方，可保存更長時間。<br /><br />Q︰可根據自己的性格來選擇香水嗎？<br /><br />A︰其實剛好相反，學員可透過自己選擇的香味來了解自己的個性。<br /><br />Q︰男士可參加香水製作班嗎？<br /><br />A︰當然可以，現時已有不少男士參加。但由於製作理念是根據自己喜愛的香味，調出專屬香水，所以大部份男士都是為自己製作的。<br /><br /><br /><strong>學員Kit試後感︰</strong><br /><br />　　「以前我也參加過香水製作班，但過程較簡單，而這裏最吸引我是有個大型香水琴放了一百七十種香水選擇，大開眼界！調配過程亦非常考究，讓我更了解香水的製作過程，另有趣的是導師會透過我所選的香水，分析我的性格，有點準呢！」</p>

<p><span>我們這一代，追求着的，都不再是單調的平穩人生。Angel曾經是出色的香水品牌的marketer， 但她為要尋找自己的夢想，毅然放下工作。她走的不是一般女生走的路，她的個人信念是香水背後的浪漫故事，還有當中的個人品味，文化藝術和格調的追求。她憑着一股對香水創作的熱情及對香薰治療的認識，竟浪漫地遠赴世界香水之都法國Grasse，學習香水創作藝術。在課餘間，她參加過不少當地的大型香水品牌所舉辦的香水創作坊，體驗着真正充滿樂趣無窮的生活。就在當地香水藝術氛圍下，她覺得有一個感召，是將這香水文化帶回香港，令香港的女生也可感受到香水創作帶來的樂趣與喜悅。</span></p>

<p>以我從事著名香水品牌的營銷經驗，大多數女生都是受品牌，包裝，廣告影響，在芸芸香水選擇中，挑選覺得喜歡的香味。 但大家有沒有發現，在購買的一刻你覺得喜愛的香味，當回到家裏又不是那麼喜歡？究其原因，可能你並不知道什麼香氣最夾你，又或是你被香水的前調第一印象所誤導。</p>
<p>怎樣才可找到最適合自己的香水？市場上已藴醸一種新趨勢，就是親自挑選最喜愛的香調去調製散發具個人特質與個性的專屬香水。</p>
<p>根據歐洲香水化妝品的市場研究專家有以下評論*:&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>&ldquo;Customisation should be a central element in this category, where purchases are driven by personal aspirations and scent preferences.&rdquo; &nbsp;</em>&ldquo;<em>Consumers, particularly Millennials, are coming to expect personalisation as part of the experience as they look for products that reflect their sense of individuality</em>,&rdquo; &nbsp;由此可見，非主流化的個人化香水趨勢已漸形成。</p>
<p>其實，當我在法國世界香水之都格拉斯(Grasse)進修香水創作時，也曾經到當地歷史悠久的傳統香水品牌参與香水創作坊，發覺在專業調香師指導下，就算普通人也可化身成香水師，親自創作並為自己的香水名命，真的帶給我無窮樂趣與滿足感。&nbsp;最amazing 的是從調香過程中你會尋找到自己的內在個性，&nbsp;別看我外表cool cool的，從我挑選的香調看來，其實我是屬於sweet and warm的東方調子。</p>
<p>這種經歷啓發我要把法國的香水文化藝術帶到香港。返港後我成立了Intime Artisan de Parfum創作室，除創作自己品牌的香水外，更開辦專屬香水創作坊，讓香水愛好者可親自調配具有個人風格的Signature Perfume，更可從有品味格調的調香過程中尋回真正的自己。</p>

<div class="email-wrapped">如果你無頭緒，讓我給你一個冷門推介，法國南部的Grasse 格拉斯。</div>

<div class="email-wrapped">一個小鎮，位處Nice尼斯與康城Cannes之間，相比起這兩個五光十色的遊客天堂，它就是那麼質撲無華，而又很有內涵，因為法國的香水文化是在這地靈人傑的地方孕育出來。五月玫瑰，茉莉，晚香玉，薫衣草，最上承的香水材料，皆原産於此。著名香水品牌，Chanel，Dior，Guerlain 及最近再戰香水界的Louis Vitton 無不在這裏擁有品牌自己的私密花園及在此作香水研發基地。而國際知名的NOSE (perfumer in chief) 例如Hermes 的Jean Claude Ellena 及 Christian Dior 的Francois Demachy 等也是在此出身。可見擁有世界香水之都這美譽的格拉斯真的名不虛傳。</div>

<div class="email-wrapped">其實在還沒有成為香水之都之前，Grasse 是從事皮革製品工業，可想而知當時這裏真的臭氣薫天。但問題往往造就機會，當時的Perfumer 嘗試以香水灑在皮手套上，開創scented gloves 先河，大受當時貴族歡迎，創造出新商機，而後來皮革業識微，到現在香水工業便成了Grasse 的經濟核心。</div>

<div class="email-wrapped">雖然千里迢迢坐12個小時飛機到巴黎再轉乘5個多小時火車才到達Grasse。但我也堅持要到此進修香水創作，因為這裏的藝術氛圍確實啟發不少創作靈感 (創辦Intime Artisan de Parfum 這品牌也是這樣啟發出來)，加上很多豐富的香水知識皆可在這裏尋求，趁著這機會逃離繁囂在這寧靜的小鎮放空一下思緒，實為賞心樂事。</div>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>對法國的好感緣自小時候看張國榮的日落巴黎音樂特輯，靚人靚景，加上紅姑曼玉，相信無人不歡。真的接觸法國人及了解當地文化應該是為了扮型有品味跟中學同學到Alliance Fran&ccedil;aise 學法文;估不到出來做事又在兩間著名的法國公司渡過重要的黃金歲月。職場生涯曾經任性地出走，到美得如詩似畫的法國Annecy 小鎮住home stay 學法文，真正體驗法式生活的不覇從容，當時屋主仔對我很好，他除了煮得一手好餸，也彈得一手好琴，還記得臨離別的前夕，他彈了一首Comptine d'un autre ete (Amelie soundtrack) 送給我，這是我第一次用心去感受 emotion of music，震撼到令我不禁鼻酸涙流，當時我更在Fnac 買了這張CD，還保存至今。</p>
<p>今天再次坐在往巴黎的航班寫這篇blog，為的是追尋一個令人振奮的夢。自出道以來一直都是從事marketing 工作，能夠擁有自己的品牌，從事自己喜歡的工作，相信是不少marketer 的夢想, 非常感恩在神的帶領下，我有幸在這半年裏創立了Intime Artisan de Parfum，一個專為有要求及有生活品味的香水愛好者去創作自己Signature Perfume的香水品牌。因為我在法國是進修香水創作，所以除了教香水創作班外，我也有創作自己作品Love Collection。香水創作就好似生小孩一樣，它們有著你的個性特質，所以你的Signature perfume 是最獨特，最能代表你的一個individual identity，獨一無二，無可取代。</p>
<p>上年7月於世界香水之都法國Grasse上的香水進修課程令我大開眼界，除了知識增長外，更能與法國新舊朋友相聚。今次又會有什麼奇遇？熱切期待中。。。</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>很多女士們喜歡玫瑰香氣，但你又可知道玫瑰不是一種單一的氣味？</p>
<p>玫瑰有很多品種，各散發不同氣質，不同香調。五月玫瑰（Rose de Mai) 及大馬士革玫瑰(Damask Rose) 是兩種最常用於香水及香薫治療的品種。</p>
<p>在世界香水之都法國Grasse 盛産的玫瑰稱為五月玫瑰，皆因五月是玫瑰盛放的季節，當地更有Rose Festival 去慶祝這個特別時刻。Rose de Mai 又稱為 Cabbage Rose，因其形態好似一瓣瓣的捲心菜而得名，香調清澈甜蜜，有輕淡的蜜糖味。感覺平易近人，而又無可抗拒。</p>
<p>Damask Rose 則有種高貴典雅氣派，一般給人矜貴感覺。因多採用蒸餾法粹取精油，所以香調比較high pitch,清新而溫暖，花香味濃而帶有微辛undertone。</p>
<p>而我對Rose de Mai則情有獨鍾，很喜愛那種香而甜蜜的氣息，我所創作的Love Struck Eau de Parfum便由清新的橘子及青草香作前調，帶出主調五月玫瑰的甜蜜浪漫，彷彿一個正在熱戀中的女生，不自覺散發出自信迷人魅力，就像盛放的玫瑰般艷光四射，但又漫不經意。</p>

      <title><![CDATA[Cosmo Talk <<香水個性化演譯>>]]></title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>曾經於Poly U 修讀一個Fashion and Image Styling 課程，當中學到好多塑造個人形象 的技巧，例如時裝配搭，色調運用，化妝、配飾、髮型等等專業知識，一應俱全，好有 趣味性，但唯一美中不足的，就是欠缺配合香氣去塑造更立體的個人形象。</p>
<p>法國時裝大師Mr. Christian Dior 曾經說過：A women's perfume tells more about her than her handwriting. &nbsp;可想而知法國人向來都以香氣去感受一個人的個性品味。不過香港的 香水文化不及法國般深遠, 女生們挑選香水大都只是著重對香味的主觀喜好，包裝設計 及廣告效應，鮮有顧及香水前、中、後調的調合，和香水背後所帶出的意境及感覺。</p>
<p>我上次到法國南部，有世界香水之都美譽的 Grasse 進修香水前，有幸於巴黎與法國 歷史悠久的殿堂香水品牌Jean Patou的 NOSE Monsieur Thomas Fountain 會面。</p>

<p>其 實法國很多著名香水品牌都有一個鼻子（NOSE) , 即是 perfumer in chief, 統領整個品 牌創意路向，尤如時裝界裏 Karl Lagerfeld 於 Chanel 的角色。此等大人物當然不能輕 易接觸，而我能親身聽主帥 Monsieur Fountain 分享 Personalized Perfume Creation 的心得及香水業界現在面臨的挑戰，感到既興奮又 inspiring。Perfume just like storytelling, 香水能演譯情感，個性，意境，又豈止是一種香氣咁簡單呢！而我成立 Intime Artisan de Parfum的品牌理念「香水個性化演譯」也是這樣啟發出來。</p>
<p>以前任品牌管理層時與應徵者面試，有一個面試者令我印象深刻，就是我未入面試房 前已在走廊聞到一陣超甜的花果味香氣，及後見她的裝扮雖尚算斯文大方,但那種嬌嫡 嫡小女孩感覺充份地從她用的香水及其神態表現出來，印象分大打折扣。所以大家無 論見工，與老闆或大客開會，挑選合適的香水去表達自己是很重要的。</p>
<p>除了在職場上要運用香水得宜外，在情場上要在初次約會便能令對方留下深刻印象， 塗上恰當的香水以突出個性品味也很重要，希望以後可以在這裏和大家分享更多有關 香水於知識上，情感上，甚至生活上的一些有趣事。</p>]]></description>
